The activities and forms of entertainment vary according to the differences in cultures, environments, communities and peoples they practice. Entertainment is often generated by his surrounding environment, influenced by social and economic conditions and affected by geographical nature.

For example, the Pharaohs performed a number of entertainment activities (games), as stated by Zahi Hawass in his book "The Games, Entertainment and Leisure for the Ancient Egyptian", which in one way or another is present and developed by contemporary generations in cultures and places that are very far from the homeland of the pharaohs.

I once asked some researchers who are working for the Entertainment Development Research Canter: Why is there no integrated global reference that restricts and classifies games and entertainment?

I thought that I would be the first to make a detailed database on the subject of (entertainment); as I did not find throughout my research and studies anyone who has done so.

Then I discovered that the ideas and images of the games and entertainment tools are many and varied in a way that makes it impossible to collect it..

On one hand, you find that it is interfered with almost all activities and practices of everyday life.

On the other hand, it is renewed and developed in line with the development of civilization, culture and technology, and by the development of science and human aspirations. In addition, it differs accordingly to the difference of environments and societies.

However, I thought it was important to collect as much disaggregated databases as possible with a view to give entertainment its appropriate scientific and practical space to enable it to impact and make the appropriate difference which paves the way for more academic initiators or professionals to offer more ways of classifications and exclusivity to this broad and beautiful world.

I began to collect the games, competitions, festivals and tournaments that the world has known in any place and time through the electronic encyclopedia (Tarfihi) that I hope will be in the future (the Wikipedia of Entertainment)

In (the world of entertainment) there are large, common and overlapping areas. We must exert efforts to identify, categorize and differentiate among them as a scientific and practical reference base in the entertainment sector that is characterized by the promising prospects, going along with the extension of generations, and having a flow of ideas and innovations.
